Death of a Cooma Pioneer. Another old resident of the Cooma district, Mrs Mary Jane Ryall, passed away at her residence, Spring Plain, on Tuesday last, after a very brief illness, having received medical attention only a day before her decease. The late Mrs Ryall, who was 76 years of age, was the wife of Mr. Alfred Ryall, the well known pastoralist of this district. Born in England on 15th November 1849, she came, when only a child, to Australia with her parents, her father being the late Mr George Hain, and lived in the Cooma district during her lifetime. The funeral, which was attended by a large number of relatives and friends, took place at the Mittagang cemetery on Wednesday, the Rev. Canon Hirst conducting the service. Her remains were laid to rest beside those of her son Leslie, who died while at the Goulburn encampment after having enlisted for the great war. Wreaths were placed on the coffin from A. Ryall and family, Will and Lizzie Ryall and family, Reg and Ida Sands, Doris, Bill and Betty Ryall, George and Mary McGregor and family, Annie and Jim McGregor, Eileen and Wally Barkway, All at Lawarra, Lily. Mackey (Sydney). Mr and Mrs Killsy, Mr and Mrs J. Eldridge and family, Mr and Mrs Stewart and family. The deceased lady, leaves a husband, daughters, Mesdames E. J. Hain, C. W. Failen, F, C. Freebody, and. J C. Freebody ; and sons, Messrs William, Lewis and Oswald ; 26 grand children, and 7 great-grandchildren, to mourn their loss ; to whom the sympathy of the district is extended. Mr J. F. Allen carried out the funeral arrangements.
