Death of an Old Resident
The death occurred at his late residence,
Farley, on Sunday night, of a very old
resident in the person of Mr. James Hod
gins, who had reached the advanced age of
90. He had been a resident of Maitland
district for 60 years. He was a native of
Inniskillen, Ireland, as was also his wife
who pre-deceased him 20 years ago. , . Since;
then he has lived with his daughter (Mrs.
R. Dallas); He leaves a family of two
daughters — Mrs. F. Moore of Bishop's
Bridge, and Mrs. R. Dallas (Farley), while
seven others pre-deceased him. He
also leaves twelve grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren. The late Mr.
J. Wm Hodgins, post and tele-
graph master, Wingham, who died
a few years ago, was his oldest
son. Rev. Arthur Killworth, M.A., LL.B.,
assisted by Rev. B. Hobart, held an impres-
sive service at the house, and also at the
grave. The funeral, which was well at-
tended, evidenced the respect in which he
was held, The chief mourners ere his
daughter (Mrs. F, Moore), and his sons-in-
law (Mr. Frank Moore and Mr. Roderick
Dallas), also Messrs. W. Moore, J. Moore,
and J. Milligan, and A. G . Armstrong
(grandchildren).

DEATH OF FRANCIS MOORE.
Mr. Francis Moore, licensee of the
Wentworth Hotel, Bishop's Bridge, a
transfer for which was granted by the
Maitland Licensing Bench on Friday
last, died two days later after a short
illness in a private hospital at Mait-
land. He was 70 years of age, twenty
of which he spent as licensee of the
Wentworth Hotel. He leaves four
sons and two daughters.

Death of Mr. Francis Moore.
The death occurred in Riverview
private hospital on Sunday afternoon
last of Mr. Francis Moore, a very
old and respected resident of
Bishop's Bridge, at the age of 70
years, after a short illness. He
leaves a widow and grown-up fam-
ily of four sons and two daughters.
Deceased was licensee of the Went-
worth Hotel for the past twenty
years, and was held in high esteem
by a large circle of friends. The
funeral took place from deceased's
late residence on Monday afternoon,
being largely attended. The inter-
ment was made in the Church of
England cemetery, Campbell's Hill.
The chief mourners were: Messrs.
Francis, Thomas, William, and
James (sons), Mr. Joseph Milligan
(son-in-law), Mr. Joseph Moore
(Armidale), brother; Mr. Roderick
Dallas, brother-in-law, Messrs. Har-
old and John Milligan, grandsons,
and Mr. J. Keily. Floral tributes
were received from Jane, Frank,
Joyce and Frankie, Tom and Alice,
Will and Gert, James, Lizzie, Joe,
Maggie and family, Mr. and Mrs.
R. Dallas, Mr. J. Keily and Mr. and
Mrs. Herron and family, Tooth, and
Co. Ltd., Mr. and Mrs. F. Hodgins
and family, Mr. and Mrs. M. Markham
and family, Mr. and Mrs. H. H.
Thompson and family, Mrs. Colgan
and family, Mrs. Laura Hodgins, Mr.
and Mrs. Thomas Troy and family.
Also many telegrams and cards of
sympathy. The Rev. Hobart held a
short service at the house and offi-
ciated at the graveside.
