MACDONALD-On the 25th Mrach, 1924, at his residence, Glendarriwell, Maude, George, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Macdonald, and loving father of Alex. [deceased], Mary Mrs. Ferguson, Sara [deceased], Berry [Mrs. White, Vic., [Mrs. Ryder], Christie, Maggie (Mrs. Johnson), Nellie (Mrs Brett deceased)m John (deceased), and Charlie Macdonald, at the age of 100 years and 3 months.

Oldest Australian Native Dies.
LETHBRIDGE.— Mr. George Macdonald, of
"Glendarriwell", Maude, died on 25th inst.,
aged 100 years and 3 month. Deceased was the
oldest Australian native. He was born in Campbelltown, N.S.W.; and came to Victoria
with his wife and six children over 70
years ago. He was a member of a family of ten
children, all of whom reached advanced ages.
Deceased had never lost a tooth, and up to quite
recently had transacted his own business.

Late Mrs. M. A. S. Ferguson
Mrs. Mary Ann Sophia Ferguson, whose death at the residence of her granddaughter. Mrs. Allaway, Bel more Street Penrith, on 19th inst., was briefly reported in last issue, was born at Campbelltown 93 years ago. Her family were true and worthy re presentatives of the hardy old colonial pioneers whose simple and good living conduced to longevity. Her father died at the age of 100.

Deceased, whose maiden name was McDonald, spent her early years in Victoria. She and her husband, who was a marine engineer, lived at New castle for some time. He died many years ago. Thereafter Mrs Ferguson lived with her son, the late Mr Arthur Ferguson, first at Macksville, and afterward for a few years at Katoomba and Hazelbrook, coming to Penrith 19 years ago.

Mrs Ferguson, possessed a wonderfully cheerful disposition that appealed to all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance. she maintained her activity up to her last declining years. Her health usually was good till a few years ago when she became a sufferer from rheumatism.

Deceased leaves a son, Mr William Ferguson of Bellevue Hill, and a daughter Mrs Tarrente, who is living in South Africa. Another son, Arthur, predeceased her. There are five grand children and three great-grandchildren, and deceased also leaves four sisters—three in Queensland and one in West Australia—all of whom are over 80 years of age. Mrs Ferguson was the eldest.

The remains were laid to rest in the Presbyterian portion of Penrith general cemetery on 30th inst., Rev, A. Fleming conducting the service.
