THE LATE MRS. LIONEL LEWIS. On the 4th April, 1919, at Chomley-street, East Windsor, Laura Ethel, wife of Lionel Lewis, died suddenly. She will be remem bered as Miss Ethel Hocking throughout Geelong and district. On many occasions audiences have enjoyed the recitals given by herself and her pupils. Elocutionary judges testified to her gifts and talents. The cause of her death was cerebral hemorr hage, the attack occurring at about 10 o'clock on Thursday evening. Mrs. Lewis died without having regained conscious ness. The funeral took place at the ceme tery at Spring Vale on Saturday afternoon, the burial service of the Church of Eng land was read by the Rev J. W. Ashton, of All Saints' Church, East St. Kilda; he had celebrated her marriage on the 9th April. 1912 (Easter Tuesday) at that church. |
