Death of Mrs.W.Cowley.
We learnt with deep sorrow on Wednesday morning of the death, of Mrs. William Cowley, at Temora, which had occurred on the preceding night. It appears to have occurred without previous warning. She had been confined, and was speaking to her nurse with satisfaction as to her condition,when she suddenly fainted. After the nurse could not get her a drink of water or anything to revive her she died. The news of her death cast a gloom over the town of Temora, as it did in Cootamundra and Bethungra.

The deceased lady was the eldest daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Stephen White, of Merribindinyah, and sister to Mrs. J. Large, A. Attwood, and A. McDonell, of Cootamundra. She was 35 years of age, and leaves four children, including the one born just prior to her death, a strong healthy infant. The eldest is a daughter 14 years old, the third a son 8 years old.

In spite of very short notice there was a very large funeral on Thursday, including friends and sympathisers from all parts, some even from Tumut. Her remains wore buried in the cemetery at Bethungra, and the Rev Canon Betts (Church of England), from Cootamundra, read the burial service. A great number of floral wreaths, dictated by kindly hearts and made by skillful hands to decorate the coffin, covered in the grave what was left of a much beloved wife and respected lady. We extend our warmest sympathy to Mr. Cowley and to Mr. and Mrs. White and their family.

Mr. and Mrs. White publicly express their thanks for the extreme kindness and sympathy shown them in their bereavement.
